Watch Your Child Around Water
Make sure to always watch your child around water. Even the smallest amount of water such as 3 inches of rain or sprinkler water in a bucket or even a plastic bag can drown your child if the child falls face down into the bucket or bag. You should regularly inspect your back yard or any place else where you allow your child to play without constant supervision. It can only take a few seconds for a child to slip and fall or to hit their head and go under the water. It is foolish to have a pool without a childproof and self locking fence and illegal in many areas. The best defense is to have no pool in your own yard and constantly and vigilantly watch your child.
