Is Your Child 2 and Not Talking? By the age of 2 years old a child should be talking….well….constantly. If your 2 year old barely talks there may not be a problem as some children just begin talking at their own age. This is particularly true with boys. However, there may be a problem. For example, my nephew had his ears clogged with wax and this was preventing him from hearing and learning to talk. There could be a problem with the child such as a learning dissability or other medical problem.
Try encouraging your child to talk and exposing them to both talkative children and quiet children.
