The added stress of the 2nd Pregnancy can increase fights between couples. I have seen first hand that the added stress whether financial or physical home limitations or emotional can drastically increase the amount of fighting between couples. I have also noticed some non scientific evidence that the sex of the child can also have an effect on the hormone levels and ultimately emotions of a pregnant woman greatly varying the experience between couples from one pregnancy to the next. There just seems to be so much more stress with the second pregnancy over the first one that it can prove very difficult for both the husband and wife to continue to be patient and loving with each other. Never mind the needs of the current little ankle bitter scurrying around and yelling at the top of his lungs.

There is a Alzheimer’s disease Memory Walk in Phoenix Arizona on October 27 2007 named the Wesley Bolin Plaza walk in 85006 for the Desert Southwest Chapter. This Alzheimer’s disease walk is one of the biggest events in the United States that has raises money for research of Alzheimer’s disease. The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk has raised over two hundred and twenty million dollars in donations from it’s start in 1989. This event is very close to my heart as my grandfather suffered terribly from Alzheimer’s disease for years before his eventual death. The 2007 Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk is in need of Memory Walk Team Captains all over the United States. A child will usually beginning testing limits at the 1 year mark. For boys and girls at this age this can include hitting adults. This can often happen directly on the face when the child is bored or if the child thinks this is a game. This should immediately be discouraged. The best way to discourage this is to say immediately “NO” in a stern voice and warn the child. As the behavior continues a timeout is warranted for 1 minute per year old. Blocking the hit gently will also help to discourage the child. You should observe the child playing with others and other adults to see if the behavior continues.

The most important thing is consistency. Obviously hitting or spanking the child in response will send the wrong message. It is far better to convey social interaction and consideration for others.
